Privacy

Last updated 20 October 2026

Ascend collects as little as it can. You do not need an account to read the site, and we do not ask for your name, address, or payment details at any point.

What we collect

  • Basic request data. Our host records standard server information for every visit — IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time. This is used to keep the site running and to detect abuse.
  • First-party site analytics. We count page views, browsing sessions, referral sources or campaign labels, and clicks on retailer links. Your browser stores a random visitor identifier and a per-tab session identifier so we can estimate unique and returning visitors. Our analytics database does not store raw IP addresses, full referrer URLs, names, or purchases. Reports are aggregate and remain private to our team.
  • Your email or webhook, if you give it to us. Only if you sign up for alerts, and only to send you those alerts. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we delete the record when you do.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
  • We do not run advertising networks or third-party ad trackers on this site.
  • We do not ask for or store payment information.

Amazon and cookies

When you follow a link to Amazon, Amazon may set cookies in your browser to attribute the visit to us. That process is Amazon’s, and is covered by Amazon’s privacy notice, not this one. We never see your Amazon account, your cart, or what you bought — only an aggregate count of orders attributed to us.

Your choices

You can block browser storage or use Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track; our client-side analytics respects those signals and the site still works. Clearing site storage resets the random identifiers. If you have signed up for alerts or want analytics data associated with your browser identifier removed, email us and we will help.

Children

This site is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
