About Ascend

Ascendis a small independent site that tracks retail prices and publishes the drops worth acting on. It exists because most “deals” coverage is a percentage calculated against a price nobody ever paid, and separating the real reductions from that noise turns out to be mostly a data problem.

What we track

We aggregate price drops across the major retailers rather than a single one, because the same product is frequently cleared at very different times by each of them, and a discount only means something compared against what everyone else is charging.

What gets published

A candidate becomes a listing only when the source states a prior or regular price outright, so the percentage can be calculated rather than repeated. Store-wide promotions are dropped, and so is “lowest price ever” phrasing, which describes a previous best rather than a regular price and would overstate every discount. That removes most candidates, which is why the list is short. The full method is on how it works.

Prices are shown with the time they were recorded, and anything older than a day comes off the list rather than sitting there going stale.

How this pays for itself

Affiliate commission. When you follow a link from here to a retailer and buy something, we may be paid a small percentage of that sale by the retailer, and you pay exactly the same either way. We are not a retailer. We do not stock, sell, ship, or warrant anything listed here, and we cannot help with an order — that is between you and whoever you bought from. We are also not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any of the retailers we track.
